Ghost Road Blues
is merely the first book in a trilogy of malice and terror, but it sure kicks the series off in high gear. The book could have fallen off a cliff with all the subplots going on, but each plays into the main story arc and it all becomes nicely cohesive towards the end. Maberry strikes a good balance of suspense, brevity, and action. I was really pleased with the book and look forward to reading the remaining two novels this summer.
